SECTORS

Commercial Office Space

Offices are an ever-changing market with the advent of open plan offices, video conferencing, and super modular office rental franchises.

A key consideration in office buildings and office spaces is room acoustics and overall building acoustic design. In open plan offices for example, targets are set out by organisations such as the British Council for Offices (BCO)to reduce reverberation times and maximise privacy between desk clusters. As acoustic design consultants we provide onsite measurements of reverberation time, background noise levels and Speech Transmission Index (STI) and carry out acoustic modelling to inform the design and provide evidence of compliance.

TV, Radio and Cinema Studios

In the design, construction, and renovation of radio broadcasting and cinema studios, a great attention should be paid to the issues of sound and vibration insulation as well as to creating the required acoustic environment in the premises themselves.

When designing, each customer determines such requirements independently or relies on industry standards (OST) or international standards. As a rule, for premises with increased requirements for sound insulation, the method of integrated sound insulation of all surfaces will be successfully applied following the system “floor-wall-ceiling”.

Hospitality

Hospitality spaces are all about socialising, which means that every design must have the perfect blend of ambience and audibility. With contemporary design trends leaning towards hard surface finishes, it can be challenging to develop a functional acoustic space that keeps patrons coming back. Luckily, with the addition of cost-effective, sustainable, and easy to install acoustic treatment solutions, this problem is easily solved – allowing hospitality businesses to focus on what they do best: creating exceptional experiences for their customers.

Retail

Noise from commercial and retail businesses encompasses a large variety of sources. From bars and night clubs, air conditioning and ventilation serving offices or retail shops, delivery and servicing, to drive-thru lanes associated with coffee shops and takeaway restaurants, many commercial developments will require an acoustic assessment at the planning stage. Each application requires specific acoustical products to prevent sound problems and create a comfortable environment for shoppers and workers alike. No matter how big or small a space is, or how problematic the acoustics are, we can create a system to reduce noise, echoes, and reverberations to make any shopping experience a pleasant one.

Ecclesiastical Acoustics

Church architecture is a leading factor involved in its acoustics and requires specialist considerations which have rarely been taken into account at the design phase. HERO Acoustics have been involved in advising, supplying and complete installations for a wide range of churches and other places of worship as well as heritage and listed buildings.
